Argosy

Pattern: Argosy at Knitty!
Yarn: 3 and one half balls of Noro Kureyon, colorway 095
Needles: Size 5 metal straights

So I’ve been meaning to pop this beauty on the ol’ flickr page for some time now, but you know the saying, the best laid plans…

Argosy comes in at just about 6 and a half feet long and is constructed from Noro Kureyon, in the colorway that looks like a giant watermelon patch. I do not know a good way to photograph a scarf to best show its attributes but rest assured it is most certainly blocky, squarey, and as mod as the pattern promises.

It took most of 4 balls of Noro to get this length (hooray mindless tv knitting!) and the only reason it did not take all of the 4 is because there was a knot in the last ball that I cut out and then worked around, keeping the color scheme fluid from start to finish. It really is a testament to the beauty of the yarn that it is one giant melting pot of (much brighter than the photo dictates) color.

Things have been a bit busy around here for no less than two reasons, and probably more. The first and foremost being the lack of knitting related activities in light of the wonderful spring like weather around here lately and the massive project that is the home-and-yard-renovation. You see, the trouble with owning a home built in 1971 is that well, it was built in 1971. Aluminum wiring, bile green bathroom fixtures and ant colonies come with the territory, you know?

The others are more exciting than drywall, paint, and physical labor and they might just involve lots of knitting, but for now, I must keep things simple.

A Warshcloth

Don’t overlook the classics.
